Learn Mandarin Chinese & General Information

Mandarin Chinese is the most spoken language all over the world. Under this globalization trend in economy, learning Chinese could be one of the most important and rewarding decisions of yours.

BCLC teaches you to speak and understand practical Mandarin Chinese, including writing Chinese character and reading Pinyin, which is the system of Romanization for the Chinese written language based on the pronunciation of Mandarin Chinese. Although, there are many popular dialects, such as Cantonese, Mandarin Chinese is the only national standard language in China.

At our Language Center, we believe that the most effective process for acquiring a language begins with listening, followed by speaking, reading and writing.

The focus of our program is on conversational, colloquial usage within a grammatical framework. Listening and speaking skills are achieved through pronunciation drills and dialogues practiced in class. There will be an emphasis on learning Chinese in a social-cultural context, as it is very beneficial in helping students gain an intuitive edge toward understanding and developing a command of the language.  By focusing on practical language skills, students are able to actively participate in situations which they can expect to encounter.  Lessons will also gradually incorporate reading and writing.

Overview

To pursue success in business and advancement of life goals in which a target language plays an integrative role, we need to acquire a broad perspective of that Culture and Language.  Our Language Center ‘s programs are designed to promote an integrative approach to language learning, wherein the listening, speaking, reading and writing skills are taught holistically and interactively to promote understanding.

Methodology and Objectives

Our goal is to teach our students to communicate effectively and correctly in order to reach a high level of proficiency. Our semi-intensive courses, taught in Chinese Mandarin language, provide the proper setting for students to focus on communicating and reading first, and then developing proper grammar as their fluency increases.

Our instructors have advanced degrees, extensive training and experience in language instruction and are skilled in adult language education.

There are a few things to keep in mind about language learning:

-- Language learning requires a commitment of time and effort, both inside and outside of the class. This commitment extends to completion of assignments, the use of supplementary materials, and coming to class prepared and ready to practice, review and learn.

-- There is no "quick fix" or "instant" language learning method.  It takes time, practice and patience.
